Traditional ceremony to mark start of school building
On 15th May, a traditional ceremony to mark the initiation of the construction of a new primary school for Supinho community was presided over by the local chief of Zalala and the Supinho secretary. The ceremony was attended by religious leaders of all faiths – Muslim, Catholic and Adventist, along with community representatives. The building will be financed by the Grassroots Programme grant of the Japanese Embassy in Mozambique. The management of the construction will be jointly managed by Zalala Beach Lodge and Kulima, a Mozambican NGO with a long history of supporting grassroots development across Mozambique.
