200 Mosquito Nets donated to Mocuba Flood Victims

February 7, 2015

The coming of the New Year was not a happy one for Zambezia province, parts of which were hit by serious flooding, which resulted in the loss of many lives and left thousands homeless and exposed to illness and disease. Last week, the Mayor of Quelimane went in person to Mocuba, one of the cities worst affected and appealed to companies and individuals to provide mosquito nets that can save the lives of children and all people. Zalala Beach Lodge responded with a donation of 200 nets, which were delivered at a ceremony presided over by Zambezia’s new Governor. The ceremony took place in Quelimane on Saturday, 7th February. The Governor thanked Zalala Beach and other donors for their show of solidarity and the spirit of mutual support , which he said would provide a stimulus for the government to redouble its efforts to respond to the devastating effects of this natural calamity in the province.
